GECO Philippines, part of the GECO Asia Group of Companies, is a specialist IT Consulting Services company with headquarters in Singapore and two delivery centers in the Philippines.
We are currently looking for an Accountant to join our Finance Shared Services team. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, leads month-end close activities, supports business units with financial analysis, and works closely with Finance leadership to maintain compliance, strengthen controls, and drive process improvements.
The Senior Accountant supports the General Ledger function and oversees the work of Junior Accountants. The role leads key month-end closing activities, prepares financial statements, reconciles accounts, and coordinates closely with Business Unit Finance teams to resolve variances. This position may also be assigned finance projects and cross-functional initiatives to develop a holistic understanding of financial reporting and shared services operations.
Act as primary liaison with BU Finance teams and CFOs on general ledger matters and financial issues
Prepare monthly financial statements and supplementary schedules for assigned Business Units
Lead month-end closing activities, including:
Preparation of standard and recurring journal entries
General accounting pre-close activities
Balance sheet reconciliations with supporting analysis
Intercompany receivables and payables coordination
Inventory reconciliation vs. general ledger
Initial financial review and corrective action recommendations
Maintain fixed asset books, including tax books
Perform and monitor daily bank reconciliations
Reconcile intercompany AR/AP accounts monthly
Review accounting transactions and recommend process/system improvements
Prepare regular reports supporting FSSC and BU Finance
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Ensure compliance with ICSP/SOX internal control requirements
Support implementation of new procedures and Management of Change (MOC) initiatives
Drive continuous improvement projects aligned with Lean concepts
Ensure adherence to documented process controls
Supervise and delegate tasks to Junior Accountants
Develop training and development plans for team members
Monitor team performance and conduct performance evaluations
Approve overtime, leave requests, and shift changes
Conduct coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution
Participate in hiring, interviews, and employee onboarding
Recommend rewards and merit-based recognition
Enforce Company Code of Conduct and disciplinary processes when necessary
Ensure compliance with EHS policies and safety measures
Support 5S implementation and conduct monthly audits
Act as Incident Commander when required under EH&S guidelines
Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
CPA preferred
At least 1-2 years of audit and/or financial accounting experience
Strong Excel skills and experience with comprehensive ERP systems
Experience with SAP, Oracle, or equivalent ERP systems
Background in Shared Services or multinational environment
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with high initiative
Proven ability to multitask and work under pressure
