Position: Cloud and Wintel Administrator
Responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of Windows-based servers, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise backup systems. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and security of IT services across both on-premises and cloud environments.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 10 years’ experience in infrastructure, 5+ years of experience in workstation build and automation
- Self-motivated, eager to learn in the IT profession
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking
- Sense of Accountability and ownership on the environment supported
- Adaptability, flexibility on technology deployed and utilized through keeping updated with evolving tehcnologies and best practices
- Team player must be able to work with people within and outside of the IT department.
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Fluent English-speaking mandatory
- Ability to analyze and synthesize situations and understand the business constraints
Technical Expertise:
- Operating Systems & Platforms: Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Patching and Firmware upgrade
- Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Azure AD, Azure Backup, AWS (exposure to EC2, S3, IAM), GCP, Hybrid cloud connectivity and monitoring
- Backup & Recovery Tools: Veeam Backup & Replication, Commvault or Veritas NetBackup , Backup scheduling, retention policies, and restore testing
- Storage Systems: SAN/NAS solutions (NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE), Storage protocols: iSCSI, NFS, SMB, Basic performance tuning and capacity monitoring
- Monitoring & Management: SolarWinds, SCOM, Nagios, or equivalent, ITSM tools (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy), Patch management and system health reporting
- Security & Compliance: Antivirus and endpoint protection tools, Vulnerability scanning (Qualys, Tenable), Basic exposure to SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel)
- Scripting & Automation: PowerShell (basic to intermediate), Exposure to automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO), including patching, updates, and performance monitoring.
Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and troubleshoot server-related issues.
Assist in managing cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS), including provisioning, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery support.
Oversee backup operations using tools such as Veeam or Commvault, ensuring successful job completion and regular restore testing.
Monitor system health, respond to incidents and service requests, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Apply security patches, follow system hardening standards, and support audit and compliance requirements.
