Job Summary:
We are looking for passionate Database Administrators/Engineers to join a critical and long-term project. This role is part of an upskilling programme that offers current DB professionals (MSSQL, SQL, Oracle, IBMDB2, AWS RDS, MongoDB, and other DB platforms) the opportunity to pivot into the SAP HANA ecosystem. Successful candidates will undergo structured training, gain hands-on project exposure, and have the chance to pursue SAP certifications.
This opportunity is open to professionals of all seniority levels—from fresh graduates to senior leads—who want to grow their careers in database technologies and SAP systems.
Responsibilities:
- Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain databases across different platforms.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- User Management: Create and manage database users, roles, and access privileges.
- Structured RCA Approach: Perform detailed root cause analysis of incidents and propose long-term fixes.
- Database Performance: Monitor, optimize, and tune database performance for high efficiency.
- High Availability: Implement clustering, replication, and failover solutions to ensure database uptime.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively track database health, identify issues, and resolve incidents.
- Database Security: Enforce security policies, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with standards.
Requirements:
- Background in Database Administration or Engineering, with exposure to one or more of the following: MSSQL, SQL, Oracle, IBMDB2, AWS RDS, MongoDB, or other database platforms.
- Hands-on experience with database tasks in administration, backup/recovery, user management, RCA, performance tuning, high availability, monitoring/troubleshooting, and security.
- Open to candidates with related SAP skills such as SAP Basis, SAP BW/BI/DW, SAP data modelling, or SAP ABAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotational support environment.
- Keen interest in upskilling to SAP HANA DBA with opportunities for certification.
