💼 About the role: Linux Architect

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Linux Architect to join our Infrastructure Shared Services team. In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for Linux infrastructure across Asia, specializing in RedHat technologies and large-scale enterprise environments.

You will play a key role in designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting mission-critical Linux platforms distributed across 100+ servers. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Linux architecture, automation, cloud technologies, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure operations.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Architecture & DesignProvide Linux infrastructure expertise and technical consulting for enterprise projects and strategic initiatives

  • Design scalable, secure, and highly available Linux environments

  • Advise on Linux-related security fixes, compliance requirements, and platform risks

  • Collaborate with architecture teams and influence key platform decisions

  • Work with vendors to define Linux platform roadmap strategies

  • Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline operations, deployments, and monitoring

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure stability, performance, and operational consistency of Linux infrastructures

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for Linux platforms

  • Develop automation processes and infrastructure-as-code solutions

  • Implement and maintain ITIL best practices

  • Work closely with Systems, Network, and Security teams to deliver high-quality services

Support & Escalation

  • Act as the senior escalation point for Linux-related technical issues globally

  • Lead problem management activities until resolution

  • Develop lifecycle management strategies for Linux platforms

  • Maintain firmware and device driver baseline matrices

  • Initiate and lead service improvement programs

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly infrastructure performance and operational reports

  • Ensure complete and updated technical documentation and operational procedures

💡 Technical Competencies

  • Minimum RHCE Certified

  • At least 10 years of infrastructure experience

  • At least 7 years of hands-on Linux administration and architecture experience

  • Strong expertise in:

    • RedHat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian

    • Linux automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform

    • Scripting languages: Shell, Python, or Perl

    • Linux virtualization technologies, especially KVM/QEMU

    • Large-scale Linux deployment and automation

    • Monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, SolarWinds, or Icinga

    • Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms

    • Active Directory, Azure AD, and SAML SSO integration

    • VMware virtualization

    • TCP/IP networking and infrastructure troubleshooting

    • Linux package management (RPM/DPKG)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with:

    • Docker and DevOps environments

    • Puppet, Chef, or other configuration management tools

    • Splunk or enterprise SIEM platforms

    • FreeBSD and embedded Linux

    • Linux kernel internals

    • HP-UX environments

    • ITIL framework

    • Storage technologies and enterprise backup solutions

  • Linux Platforms: RedHat 8/9, Ubuntu 20/24, CentOS 8, Amazon Linux, OCI Linux

  • Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure & AWS

  • Virtualization: VMware, KVM

  • Storage: NetApp, IBM SAN/SVC, Dell Compellent, Pure Storage

  • Backup Solutions: Veeam, Azure Backup, Zerto, CommVault

  • Monitoring Tools: Nagios XI, SolarWinds, Zabbix

  • Hardware: Dell Servers, Cisco UCS

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Customer-service oriented with strong stakeholder management abilities
