Job Title: Network Administrator
Job Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for the overall management, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and documentation of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures 24/7 network availability, secure connectivity, and optimal performance of all network-related systems, equipment, and services while maintaining compliance with operational standards and government concession requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Infrastructure Management
- Manage, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain all network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Administer firewalls (e.g., WatchGuard M4600), including IPLC, VLAN segmentation, and routing configurations.
- Manage Ruijie core, distribution, and access switches, as well as other enterprise-grade switches.
- Apply Layer 2 technologies including VLANs, switch stacking, and Virtual Switching Systems (VSS).
- Apply Layer 3 routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and HSRP.
- Maintain WAN and LAN connectivity, including fiber and copper cabling (FOC, SFP, SC, LC, ST, FC, CAT6, CAT5e).
- Install, configure, and update routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and other related devices.
- Ensure continuous 24/7 interconnectivity of all MWM hardware components.
2. Wireless and Network Connectivity
- Configure and maintain wireless access points (Cambium, Ubiquiti UniFi Controller).
- Manage Air Fiber, point-to-point, and point-to-multipoint wireless connections for terminal operations.
3. Monitoring and Preventive Maintenance
- Monitor network performance using tools such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, Nagios, and Cacti.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on network hardware.
- Monitor hardware license expirations and service renewals.
- Maintain accurate network hardware inventory using Snipe-IT.
- Maintain Data Center and Auxiliary Rooms, including IDF cabinets, switches, UPS, and PDUs.
4. Telecommunications and Auxiliary Systems
- Administer cloud PBX and telephony systems; coordinate with ATI/PLDT for troubleshooting and upgrades.
- Escalate complex telephony and network issues to vendors as required.
- Maintain and support PA/BGM systems (e.g., WavHub).
- Administer and support CCTV systems and related network infrastructure.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot door access control systems.
5. Vendor and ISP Coordination
- Liaise with Internet Service Providers (PLDT, Globe, Philcom, Rise, Converge) for service coordination and fault resolution.
- Coordinate with vendors for support of network equipment and peripherals.
6. Project and Operational Support
- Assist IT personnel with network-related projects.
- Provide network setup for events and tenants, including minor cabling works (excluding rough-ins).
- Develop and update policies and procedures related to network administration.
- Ensure compliance with government Concession Agreement requirements and applicable KPIs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or any related course.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Network Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience managing enterprise firewalls, switches, and wireless systems.
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools and inventory management systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues independently.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
