Position: QA Manual Generalist
(Open for Mid-Level and Senior-Level Candidates)
We are looking for a QA Manual Generalist with strong expertise in manual testing, UI/web application testing, API testing, SQL validation, and basic automation testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in e-commerce platforms, particularly checkout and payment systems. Senior-level candidates should also have experience leading QA activities, mentoring team members, and driving quality improvements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring software quality by developing effective test strategies, executing comprehensive test plans, identifying risks, managing defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Testing
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and UI/web application testing.
- Design, execute, and maintain test cases, test scripts, test data, and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
- Develop test strategies, Master Test Plans, and test effort estimates.
- Execute test scenarios and provide detailed defect reports with clear documentation.
- Perform API testing, SQL validation, manual testing, and basic automation testing to ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with Automation QA Engineers to support automation initiatives.
- Execute and maintain automated test cases when required.
- Review test deliverables and provide recommendations to improve testing effectiveness.
- Ensure test environments and test data are properly prepared and maintained.
- Work closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify potential quality risks.
QA Leadership & Team Support
- Lead QA activities and testing efforts for assigned projects.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior QA team members (Senior-level).
- Review testing approaches and ensure alignment with QA standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and support teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, and effective communication within project teams.
QA Process & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and CMMI standards throughout the QA lifecycle.
- Maintain QA documentation and follow established testing processes.
- Prepare test reports, Test Summary Reports, and quality-related documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Stay updated with industry trends, testing tools, and best practices.
Job Requirements/ Required Experience
- Bachelor's or College degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Mid QA Manual Generalist: At least 4 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance and/or Software Testing.
- Senior QA Manual Generalist: At least 5 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance and/or Software Testing.
- Proficient in creating and executing test cases, test scripts, and test documentation.
- Proven experience in creating Test Plans and defining effective testing strategies.
- Strong understanding of Test Design Techniques, QA methodologies, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including both Waterfall and Agile development approaches.
- Extensive knowledge of QA testing tools, test design techniques, testing standards, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience in manual testing, UI/web application testing, API testing, SQL validation, and basic automation testing.
- Experience working in various system development environments.
- Exposure to business operations related to manufacturing, distribution, financial systems, or e-commerce is an advantage.
- Senior-Mid level candidates: Experience leading a small QA team or managing QA activities for small to medium-sized projects is an advantage.
- Experience working with different testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.
- ISTQB Testing Certification is a plus but not required.
