
We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Onsite Lead to manage and oversee SAP technical operations for the Customer Application Management Services (AMS) engagement in Malaysia. The role involves leading onsite operations, coordinating with offshore teams, ensuring stable SAP system performance, and driving continuous improvements across the SAP landscape.
Job Responsibilities
SAP Basis Operations & Technical Leadership
- Provide hands-on leadership for SAP Basis activities across ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, Fiori, BTP, and other SAP components.
- Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and smooth functioning of SAP systems across development, QA, and production landscapes.
- Oversee system refreshes, client copies, transport management, kernel upgrades, and routine maintenance tasks.
Onsite Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary onsite technical focal point for customer IT and business stakeholders.
- Provide daily updates, manage expectations, handle escalations, and ensure alignment with AMS SLAs and KPIs.
- Collaborate with offshore teams to ensure seamless delivery.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Lead resolution of Basis-related incidents and high-priority issues.
- Drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes for recurring problems.
- Review and approve Basis-related changes as per governance processes.
SAP Landscape Management & Maintenance
- Oversee system monitoring, health checks, early-watch reports, and performance audits.
- Manage system copies, patching, upgrades, database maintenance, and backup/restoration activities.
- Ensure compliance with security standards including roles, certificates, and encryption.
SAP Project & Enhancement Support
- Support enhancements, rollout activities, and BASIS-related project tasks.
- Provide technical consulting for upgrades, HANA migration, S/4HANA, cloud adoption, and integrations.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Recommend automation to improve efficiency.
- Ensure alignment with customer architecture, ITSM, and roadmap.
Required Qualifications
- 10–15 years of SAP Basis experience with AMS exposure.
- Experience with SAP landscapes including ECC/S4, HANA, BW, PI/PO, GRC, SolMan, Fiori, BTP.
- Strong HANA administration skills including performance, backups, HA/DR.
- Experience in onsite-offshore delivery.
- Strong communication and leadership skill
