The SAP Basis/HANA System Administrator is responsible for the management and maintenance of the SAP landscape, including SAP HANA and traditional SAP Basis systems. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of SAP systems through proactive monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of SAP Basis and HANA database administration, as well as experience with system upgrades, patches, and overall SAP environment optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain SAP environments, including SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Solution Manager, and SAP HANA databases.
- Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of SAP systems (e.g., ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, etc.).
- Manage user accounts, roles, and authorizations within SAP systems.
- Monitor system performance and perform proactive tuning to ensure optimal system availability and responsiveness.
- Execute SAP transport management, client administration, and system refresh activities.
- Apply SAP system patches and updates in coordination with the application and development teams.
- Maintain and optimize HANA database environments, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
- Monitor and ensure the security of the SAP landscape, including system audits, patch management, and compliance checks.
- Troubleshoot SAP-related issues and provide solutions to users and technical teams as needed.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Work closely with infrastructure, networking, and security teams to align SAP system requirements with organizational IT standards.
- Ensure business continuity by managing backups, disaster recovery plans, and high availability strategies for SAP systems.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, including expertise in HANA database administration.
- Experience with SAP system installations, configurations, upgrades, and patch management.
- Hands-on experience with HANA database administration (e.g., backups, monitoring, tuning).
- SAP Basis or HANA certification.
- Experience with SAP cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of SAP security best practices and experience in SAP security audits.
