Job Requirements & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Manual Quality Assurance / Testing
- At least 5 years of experience in Automation QA / Testing, including hands-on development of automation frameworks
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, C, C#, or shell scripting
- Experience with Selenium,Playwright, Cypress, or other modern automation tools
- Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman, SoapUI, and REST APIs
- Strong working knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB
- Solid understanding of test design techniques, QA methodologies, and SDLC (Agile & Waterfall)
- Experience working in CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of mobile or desktop automation
- Familiarity with performance or security testing
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good to Have:
- Exposure to manufacturing, distribution, or financial systems
- Experience mentoring or leading junior QA engineers
- Familiarity with cloud services and cloud-based automation platforms
- Prior experience working in a shared-services or cross-functional QA environment
Job Roles & Responsibilities
Automation & Testing:
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver or equivalent automation tools
- Review requirements and define test automation strategies, ensuring adherence to coding and quality standards
- Translate business and functional requirements into effective automated test cases
- Ensure software releases meet agreed functionality and requirements, supported by Test Summary Reports and/or Acceptance Certificates
Process & Improvement:
- Participate in and enforce SDLC standards and QA best practices
- Monitor automation execution and provide testing metrics and status reports
- Recommend improvements to tools, frameworks, and test environments
- Collaborate with Manual QA, Developers, and Senior Automation Engineers to enhance automation framework architecture
Reporting & Support:
- Execute test scripts and identify, replicate, and clearly report defects
- Validate defect fixes and new functionality through functional, regression, and system testing
- Prepare test plans, effort estimations, and test result summaries
Administrative & Teamwork:
- Mentor and guide Junior QA and Automation Engineers
- Record testing activities, report issues, and ensure process compliance
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts, QA Leads, and other stakeholders
- Demonstrate flexibility in supporting changing priorities and schedules
