
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise financial platforms within the BFSI domain, particularly in private equity and wealth management environments.
This role involves working across the full software development lifecycle, including business analysis support, solution design, backend development, integration, deployment, and production support. The ideal candidate should possess strong backend engineering expertise, solid architecture-level understanding of enterprise financial systems, and hands-on experience with Python, Java, cloud-native applications, and modern engineering practices.
The candidate is also expected to provide technical leadership and guide a small team of engineers while collaborating closely with business and technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and enterprise financial platforms.
- Support architecture discussions and contribute to solution design for secure, high-performing, and resilient systems.
- Develop and enhance applications using Python and/or Java technologies.
- Build and optimize APIs, database models, and application performance for business-critical platforms.
- Participate in the full SDLC including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Support integration between internal platforms, third-party systems, and SaaS applications.
- Collaborate with business users, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute to microservices-based and event-driven application architectures.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, release management, and deployment activities in secure enterprise environments.
- Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and issue resolution for production systems.
- Ensure adherence to development standards, security policies, and best engineering practices.
- Mentor and guide a small team of engineers (approximately 4–6 resources).
- Contribute to technical documentation, peer reviews, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Explore and support modern technologies including GenAI-related use cases and integrations where applicable.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Around 7–10 years of software engineering or backend development experience.
- Strong experience within BFSI environments, preferably in:
- Private Equity
- Wealth Management
- Investment or Financial Platforms
- Strong programming expertise in:
- Python
- Java
- Strong SQL and database development capabilities.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale financial applications.
- Hands-on experience with:
- REST APIs
- Microservices architecture
- CI/CD pipelines
- Secure SDLC practices
- Data modeling and query optimization
- Familiarity with:
- Spring Boot
- Hibernate
- PostgreSQL
- Linux environments
- Cloud/container platforms such as ECS Fargate
- Exposure to GenAI technologies, AI-assisted solutions, or AI integration concepts is advantageous.
- Understanding of system integration, deployment processes, and secure enterprise environments.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and guide small engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
