
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade Java applications that power mission-critical business platforms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience building scalable, cloud-native solutions, driving technical excellence, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java applications and microservices using modern software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions.
- Lead technical design discussions, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices to ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Build and optimize cloud-native applications, APIs, and distributed systems while supporting CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production deployments.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues, improve system performance and reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the software development lifecycle.
General Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Java software engineering, backend development, or enterprise application development.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, distributed, or cloud-native applications within enterprise environments.
- Experience working in Agile software development teams and collaborating with cross-functional business and technology stakeholders.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java (Java 11/17 or later), Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful APIs, Microservices Architecture, and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems with strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, SOLID principles, automated testing, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, Git, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering tools.
Preferred / Advantage
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), automated testing frameworks, and application observability tools.
- Knowledge of messaging and event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar technologies.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects, technical communities, or engineering initiatives, with relevant cloud or Java certifications considered an advantage.
