Position: Senior System Engineer (Linux)
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior System Engineer (Linux) to join our team and play a critical role in managing, supporting, and evolving our enterprise Linux environments across the Asia Pacific region.
In this role, you will act as a Level 3 escalation point, providing expert-level support while contributing to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of large-scale Linux platforms. You will also collaborate closely with business units and project teams to deliver innovative and reliable infrastructure solutions.
This position combines hands-on operational support with project-based work, including the integration of cutting-edge technologies into a dynamic enterprise IT environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure operational stability and performance of Linux-based retail systems across the Asia Pacific region
Build, deploy, administer, and manage Linux systems and infrastructure
Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability, responsiveness, and lifecycle management
Provide Level 3 support and act as the final escalation point for complex incidents
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Linux platforms and services
Secondary Responsibilities
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions
Prepare monthly reports on system performance, quality, and activities
Develop and maintain technical documentation and support procedures
Core Skills
Strong expertise in Linux technologies (RHCE certification preferred)
Extensive experience with enterprise Linux distributions (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu/Debian)
Hands-on experience with Linux automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Ansible, Terraform, AWS/Azure APIs)
Proven experience in large-scale Linux deployments and administration
Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, or Perl)
Experience with Linux virtualization (KVM/QEMU)
Knowledge of Linux monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, Icinga, or Cacti)
Experience with automated OS deployments (e.g., Kickstart)
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts
Additional Skills
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform
Familiarity with HPE enterprise hardware (e.g., ProLiant, Moonshot)
Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and SAML-based SSO
Experience with VMware and Windows Server environments
Exposure to SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) and IT security concepts
Experience with packaging (RPM/DPKG) and FreeBSD (preferred)
Understanding of web services, SaaS, and PaaS architectures
Experience with Linux kernel internals
Background in supporting SAP on Linux/UNIX environments
Knowledge of ITIL framework
Experience with thin/zero client architecture
Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise Linux environments (Senior level)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal English required)
Excellent documentation and knowledge-sharing abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented and highly organized

Experience working in a regional or international environment
