We’re Hiring: Senior Wintel and Cloud Architect

Location: Muntinlupa
Work Setup: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote (Shifting schedule)

GECO Asia is looking for a Senior Wintel and Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of hybrid IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments (Azure and AWS). This role focuses on architecture, scalability, security, and seamless integration across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Infrastructure

• Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions across Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms

• Manage Azure services including Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, App Services, AKS, Docker, Storage, Networking, IAM, and Azure Site Recovery

• Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, GPO, RDS, IIS)

• Develop and execute disaster recovery (DR) strategies for mission-critical systems

• Create detailed architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and operational runbooks

• Lead end-to-end migration, upgrade, and obsolescence projects

• Assess infrastructure readiness and develop cloud migration strategies (lift-and-shift, re-platform, refactor)

• Define and implement a unified hybrid infrastructure strategy integrating:

• On-prem systems (AD, DNS, DHCP, backup, storage, networking)

• Cloud platforms (Azure IaaS/PaaS, AWS)

• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSAN)

• Perform capacity planning and performance optimization across environments

• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for escalations related to cloud and Wintel infrastructure

Security & Compliance

• Implement best practices for identity and access management (IAM, RBAC)

• Ensure compliance with internal security standards and policies

• Support vulnerability management, audits, and risk mitigation efforts

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and manage backup and disaster recovery initiatives across hybrid environments

• Collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and cross-functional IT teams

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and project ownership

Automation & Integration

• Develop and implement automation and scripting solutions (PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible)

• Integrate enterprise systems including:

  • Storage solutions (NetApp, Dell, Pure)

  • Storage networking (SAN, Brocade, Dell)

  • Backup tools (Veeam, NetBackup)

• Support integration with third-party applications and enterprise platforms

Required Skills & Experience

• Cloud Expertise: At least 10 years of experience in Azure and/or AWS (design, implementation, migration, networking, DR, monitoring)

• Wintel Expertise: At least 10 years managing Windows Server (2012–2022+), Active Directory, DNS, GPO, clustering, DHCP, RDS, PKI, IIS

• Virtualization & Storage: Strong experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN) and enterprise storage (NetApp, Pure)

• Backup Solutions: Experience with Veeam and NetBackup

• Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure-as-Code

• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Relevant certifications:

  • Microsoft Azure / AWS Architect or Administrator

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Azure Solutions Architect

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

  • ITIL Foundation

• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with cloud and on-premises disaster recovery solutions

• Basic Linux administration skills (RHEL, Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora)

• Certifications in enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, NetBackup) are a plus
