The Software QA Engineer is responsible for testing IT products, processes, and systems to ensure they meet defined quality, regulatory, and compliance standards. This role involves executing test plans, documenting results, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work effectively in both project based and operational environments.
• Test software products and processes to verify functionality, performance, and effectiveness
• Execute and document test plans, test cases, and test results
• Develop standards and procedures to assess product quality and release readiness
• Program, execute, and analyze automated test scripts
• Identify, isolate, document, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle
• Collaborate closely with development teams to resolve issues
• Review user interfaces for consistency, usability, and functionality
• Recommend modifications and improvements based on test outcomes
• Assist in creating and estimating user stories, ensuring they are testable
• Research and evaluate new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies
• Plan and execute change implementations
• Document observations and findings from inspections and audits
• Prepare and present test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders
• Perform testing across multiple platforms, including modern web browsers and mobile devices
• Manage time effectively and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Strong experience with QA methodologies and manual software testing
• Understanding of system data flow; experience with database testing is an advantage
• Ability to read and execute basic SQL queries
• Knowledge of web applications, web services, databases, network connectivity, authentication, configuration, and debugging
• Experience with automated testing (3+ years preferred) or equivalent development experience
• Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., model-based or script-based automation frameworks)
• Experience using Agile development methodologies
• Proficiency in MS Office and related productivity tools
